Movies I have seen too many times: Coyote Ugly
There are some movies I can watch over and over again and never get tired of them. One of those movies is Coyote Ugly.
Coyote Ugly is a romantic comedy/drama from 2000 about a young aspiring songwriter named Violet, who leaves her father’s home in a small town to move to New York City to pursue her dreams.
Of course, she is not the first or only girl who has come to the big city to become a star, and thus, she is not very successful in getting her foot in the door. Instead, she gets a job at a bar called Coyote Ugly.
After starting her job, she quickly discovers that in order to keep her job she must learn the ropes of singing, dancing, and performing wild acts on the bar. As Violet is rather shy, this does not come naturally to her, and she almost loses her job once or twice.
However, dancing on the bar half-naked at some club, even though very enjoyable for us viewers, is not the reason why she moved to New York City. She tries to give her song writing another chance, she ends up having a great performance at an open mike night, which leads to a successful record deal and they all live happily ever after.
Don’t ask me why I love this movie so much. Of course, there are the obvious things like girls dancing on the bar half-naked, and a very cute Piper Perabo. But it is about more than that. It is a nice movie, with a good story, and great main characters.
Or maybe it is just a really fun feel good movie with hot chicks.
