Blog crush: Spoil Myself
I love reading other people’s blogs. It has become such a daily routine, like checking my emails or reading the news. The number of blogs in my Google reader keeps growing week after week.
It’s something I never grow tired off. Sure, some days or weeks I really do not have the time to read each blog post of each blog I follow, at least not on the day it’s posted. But it’s always fun, because it’s always new.
What I like in particular about reading blogs is to get an idea of the other person’s thoughts and likes and dislikes, a glimpse into their lives if you will. I don’t need a blog to be totally like a personal diary and it also doesn’t have to be filled with the latest exiting stuff.
The blogs that I like best are the ones that have a little bit of everything. One blog I am a big fan of is Spoil Myself by @Maxime68, eurout’s political editor. And no, I am not just saying that because we work together.
I like the topics that she covers, ranging from music and movies she likes and television shows she watches, to more personal stories about life, pets, stubbornness or just nice lists of random facts about herself.
Even though I often do not agree with what she’s thinking or discussing, I almost always agree with the topics. With that I mean I love every single posts I read on Maxime’s blog, and I often think it would make a great topic for my own blog too.
Yet, probably in about 50 percent of the time I have a totally different opinion…about how she feels about certain things, what annoys her, which movies or TV shows she likes. The other 50 percent of the time I can’t stop but nod feverishly in agreement.
Those percentages are just guesses, I am not that big of a geek, but I think it is a good balance to make reading a blog interesting and fun. If you are not familiar with Spoil myself yet, do check it out. I bet you’ll enjoy reading it!
