There once was a land called Callica…

There once was a land called Callica, where two smart, hot and funny women on one of my fave TV show made said TV show even more awesome by falling for each other.

Remember this?

At least, that is what they had us thinking for months. They would notice each other, like what they saw and they would have a little romance….or a little sex…or perhaps even both.

I did not expect much more. Hell, in this soap opera like drama show like Grey’s Anatomy, you take what you can get. It is all about the drama, and thus, there is nothing more boring and drama free than a happy relationship.

BUT. I did expect them to at least have a nice little cute fling. Especially, since the writers have been going on for months and months how they wanted to portray this relationship realistically and respectfully.

Or something like that. They even talked to GLAAD and “real lesbians” to find out just how it all works. Why did they even bother?

Wonder what the hell I am going on about? Well, you probably haven’t seen this week’s episode. This episode should have been called TOTAL BS.

Think I am overreacting? Watch this next clip.

Yep, that’s right. Callie is so infatuated with Erica that having sex with her was so disappointing and awkward, she needs to go to Sloan to get some advice on how to give good oral. This would be bad enough, had he (former sex buddy and very creepy manwhore) just given her some friendly advice. But no, he actually has to give her a life demonstration.

WTF???

Even if you were in need of some sex tips, would you really ask a guy how to have sex with a woman? And even if you would, would you actually let the guy show you by having sex with him?

Apparently, Callica is not really a land where Sapphic dreams are made….but instead a land where straight men can get off on two straight women’s 5 minute gay fling.

This is really pissing me off. And no, not because I’m a serious humourless lesbian. Just that I was promised a nice honest romance and instead I get this BS.

Let me warn you, there’s more BS to come next week….

Are you still watching?

Yes, I too had serious problems with this episode. But then Grey's has some of the worst writing of any show I've ever watched, and I grew up the 70s, so I know bad writing when it bitch slaps me.
I don't know if we're going to continue watching or not. It depends. I'm not going to jump ship quite yet, but who knows? I'm a fickle viewer.

Well, this is actually one of my fave shows believe it or not.

I think something went very wrong somewhere halfway through the 3rd season and it's been getting worse since.

Still, somehow I care less about the crappy writing when it's not a relationship I'm invested in.

Oh, this is also one of Caty's fave shows. I try not to bitch about it too much.
But I do love Sandra Oh and Callica, and I'm amused by Bailey, so I'll stick around for awhile yet.
Oh! Speaking of most favored shows, last night's Heroes has redeemed the entire third season for me.
