Wanted

I saw Wanted the other day, and I have to say I quite enjoyed it. In case you have been living under a rock for the last few months, Wanted is the latest action movie starring Angelina Jolie.

It also stars Morgan Freeman and James McAvoy, but let’s be honest, the only reason to go see this is because it has Angelina. And guns. Angelina looking hot, shooting guns. Yep, that’s all I needed.

To be honest, I probably need even less. I have seen almost every movie Angelina Jolie has ever been in, and some of those have been pretty crap (remember Hell’s Kitchen?). I even own Mr. and Mrs. Smith on DVD, and it’s not because of the great plot.

I don’t mean to imply Wanted is a bad movie. Not at all. It is quite entertaining, and even has some great moments, as well as a plot. Of course, the movie is based on a comic book, so you cannot expect too much.

If you haven’t seen it yet, let me sum up what the movie is about: Wesley (played by James McAvoy) is an average guy, with an unexciting job and an even more boring life. Some might say he is a total loser.
This all changes when one night he goes to the grocery store, where a mysterious woman (played by Angelina Jolie) tells him that his father was an elite assassin who was killed on the rooftop of a building a few days ago. The next morning Wesley is shown the Fraternity, a secret society of weavers turned assassins whose mission it is to kill all those who threaten to bring the world to chaos. They want Wesley to follow into this father’s footsteps and become an assassin too. At first Wesley is totally overwhelmed and he refuses to become part of the Fraternity. However, the next day he gets a change of heart and decides that perhaps it is not such a bad idea to kiss his crappy boring life goodbye and try on this brand new adventurous life (Read the entire review here).

If you like action movies and/or if you like Angelina Jolie, you are going to enjoy this movie. But then, you have probably already seen it, haven’t you?
